2021-2022 ANNUAL REPORT IS NOW AVAILABLE
The Rotary Club of York's Annual Report is now available for review HERE.We encourage all Rotarians to review the important information found in this report as it details the meaningful work our club accomplished in the 2021-2022 year. During this time we experienced a robust return to in person gatherings while maintaining the opportunity to join weekly meetings through Zoom. Our members were encouraged to answer Rotary International President, Shekhar Mehta’s challenge, “Each One Bring One” Campaign by inviting guests to attend a weekly meeting and learn more about the work of Rotary. We also focused on building membership and developed sub-committees to grow and diversify membership, to improve the membership experience, and to better engage and retain membership as a welcoming organization reflective of our community.
IDEA COMMITTEE TO HOLD CLEAN UP ON NOVEMER 12TH
The IDEA Committee invites all Rotarians to join them in their efforts to clean up Friends of Lebanon Cemetery. Those interested should plan to meet at 1404 N. George Street on Saturday, November 12th at 9:00am. The clean up is expected to last about three hours. If you have any questions, please contact Jen May at jgm14@psu.edu.
WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA
The IDEA Committee is also spearheading a project to REMEMBER the Fallen, HONOR those who Serve, and TEACH our children the value of Freedom. Rotarians can sponsor a wreath in remembrance of our country’s fallen heroes who lie in peace at The Lebanon Cemetery, York, PA. The IDEA Committee will have a table prior to the November 9th meeting to collect donations for Remembrance wreaths. Wreaths are $15 each. Please make checks payable to TheCharitable Endowment Fund. Cash is also accepted. No credit cards. Please contact Jen May at jgm14@psu.edu with any questions.
YOUTH EXCHANGE HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
The Youth Exchange Committee is asking for your help in locating families who live in the York Suburban School District or the Dallastown School District and who may be willing to serve as a host family. Jeanne is our student from France who attends York Suburban. Julien is our student from Belgium who attends Dallastown. The host family may have students in high school, but that is not required. We need families who are willing to welcome Jeanne or Julien into their homes. Our most immediate need is to find host families for each of them who will take them the first weekend in December until the first weekend in March. We also need host families who can welcome them in March to stay until the end of the school year in June. If you know of anyone who may be willing to serve as a host family, please share that information with Walt Tilley or any Youth Exchange Committee member.
