The Rotary Club of York will welcome District Governor Juliet Altenburg. Juliet’s passion for Rotary is fueled by her membership in the Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg-North since 2013. She served as the Club President in 2019/2020. Her contributions have included service in every aspect of club operations including Youth Exchange, Philanthropy, Communications, and Fundraisers. DG Juliet will share with us what’s happening at the district this year.

The Membership Committee recommended to the Board of Directors the following applicants for membership in The Rotary Club of York: Harland Carney (Commercial Banking Director, Senior Vice President; PeoplesBank) proposed by PP Mike Summers; Al Granholm (Senior Vice President- Facilities and Loss Prevention; Premier Project Management) proposed by Pres Glenn Miller; and Erin Titter (Corporate and Foundation Giving Officer; York College of PA) proposed by Pres Glenn Miller. If no objections are received by August 10th, the Board of Directors will consider them for membership at their next Board meeting on August 11th.

FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE TO HOST CRAB FEAST
The Fellowship Committee invites you to an informal get-together. Enjoy steamed crabs and beverages (Soda, Iced Tea, and Lemonade provided, BYOB).
When: Thursday, August 18 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
Where: Etzweiler River House, 10 Boathouse Rd, Wrightsville (Long Level on the Susquehanna River)
Cost: $25 a person

ANNUAL CROQUET PRACTICE AND ORIENTATION
On Sunday, August 21st, Rotarian Mike Ausherman will be hosting his annual croquet practice and orientation in preparation for Love Fore Community. All are welcome to attend at 761 Applewine Court, whether you are new to the game or looking to improve your skills. Start time is 2:00pm. Refreshments will be provided.
NEW ON-LINE REGISTRATION is now open for teams and sponsorships for LOVE FORE COMMUNITY, the annual charitable fundraising event held by The Rotary Club of York on September 12th. This year’s event will be held at The Country Club of York and offers opportunities to play golf, tennis, croquet and NEW for this year, cornhole. GREEN BAG PICK-UP ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10TH
The Rotary Club of York did such a great job of collecting plastics last time, that we're going to continue doing it month-after-month! Green Bags will be placed on the mail table at upcoming meetings. Please take one (or more) and continue collecting your household plastics. Collection of the bags will take place the second Wednesday of each month, with the next one scheduled for August 10th. Please plan to drop off plastics in the parking lot of Country Club of York from 11:30-12:00, prior to the weekly meeting.
