PROGRAM:  Rev. Aaron Anderson, an ordained minister in The Presbyterian Church in America, came to York in 2004 as Assistant Pastor at Providence Presbyterian Church in 2004. He joined the Board of the Logos Academy in 2009, and has been its CEO since June 2014. He will describe the growth of the school, the progress of its expansion program, and introduce us to LogosWork, a for-profit project to benefit the non-profit Logos Academy.  
Rev. Anderson has been remarkably involved in the York community, having also served on the boards of the York City Redevelopment Authority, Lifepath Christian Ministries, Keystone Kidspace, Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania, York County YMCA, and York County Children, Youth & Family, as well as his leadership in facilitating the Chiefs and Clergy Partnership. Aaron is scheduled to present his program in person at the CCY.  
 
REGISTRATION INFORMATION to attend the lunch meeting IN PERSON at the Country Club of York:  maximum of 56 members can be accommodated in the ballroom set with 14 round tables of 4 with open seating.  Members are required to wear MASKS at all times unless seated in the ballroom actively eating.

PLEASE RESERVE YOUR SEAT ASAP.  THE SYSTEM WILL ONLY BE OPEN TO MAKE RESERVATIONS UNTIL MONDAY, 4/19 AT 3PMIf you do NOT receive an email confirmation from ClubRunner, you are NOT registered.  If you are interested in attending but there is no availability, please sign up under the "WAIT LIST".  If a seat becomes available, you will be contacted directly.  No walk-ins are accepted.  If need to cancel your reservation, please do so online, but also communicate to the Rotary Office so members on the wait list can be contacted immediately to attend.     
 
Please note - All RCY members with confirmed lunch reservations will be invoiced $18 for lunch.  If you CANCEL after 4pm on Friday, 4/16, you will be invoiced for lunch, unless your seat is filled by another member from the “wait list”.
 
LUNCH MENU:  Mixed Greens Salad (pre-set), Chicken Amandine* with Chef's Choice Starch and Vegetable, Roll with Butter, Chef's Choice Dessert (pre-set, alternating choices on table), and Coffee or Iced Tea.

The American Red Cross building remains closed due to the pandemic, therefore the Rotary Club of York office is CLOSED.  Lynne and Renea continue to work out of their homes and have access to emails.  Access to the Rotary office is extremely limited. OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY to Rotarian Bernice Quesenberry on the death of her infant daughter, Brooke on March 16.  Services were held April 10.  Memorial donations in her name made be made online www.yorkrotary.org or by contacting the office.

Give Local YorkMAY 7 - GIVE LOCAL YORK - This year, the Rotary Club of York is partnering with Child Care Consultants to bridge the gap for working families in need of affordable, quality childcare.  Your gift will provide direct scholarships to the children who need it most, ensuring they enter school ready to succeed.  Give Local York donations will provide ALICE families – Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed – partial child care scholarships.  By ensuring their children are well cared for, we help their parents complete needed training and retain jobs so they can transition to self-sufficiency.  Please join fellow Rotarians and make a gift to this year’s Give Local York Campaign.  You can make a gift on May 7th at www.givelocalyork.org, or contact Lynne by May 6 at lmorrison@yorkrotary.org to have your gift invoiced to your Rotary account.  
 
Thursday, April 22 - Inaugural Net-Walking Event 11:30am-12:30pm on Earth Day.  The group will walk along the Heritage Rail Trail south to York College and back (2 miles round trip on a flat, paved trail).  Rotarian Silas Chamberlin will lead the group.  Walkers are to meet at the Lafayette Plaza parking lot at the corner of Pershing and Philadelphia.  Please wear masks and social distance.   
 
APRIL 30 - Application DEADLINE for “Non-Traditional Student" scholarships.  Applicant must be working towards an undergraduate degree.  The scholarship criteria and application are available on www.yorkrotary.org/downloads.  Contact Student Education Administrator Renea at roberdick@yorkrotary.org. with any questions.

RCY STUDENT EDUCATION CHAIR’S SCHOLARSHIP - We are excited to offer a $ 5,000 scholarship to someone dedicated to community service and serving others while enrolled in college!  Applications are currently being accepted for this inaugural scholarship.  We are looking for those students who have become extremely involved in their college community during their first two years!  Eligible applicants are current full-time undergraduate college students enrolled for their junior year this fall 2021.  All criteria, including the downloadable application, are available www.yorkrotary.org/downloads.  Completed applications must be received before the May 31, 2021 deadline.  Contact Student Education Administrator Renea with any questions roberdick@yorkrotary.org

HAYES EQUINE SCHOLARSHIP - The Rotary Club of York is currently accepting applications for the $ 3,000 Donna E. Northampton Community College and East Stroudsburg University and is the owner of Emig Hospitality and the Emig Mansion innkeeper.  She is involved in Women's Resources of Monroe County Fundraising, Scholarship Chair at the Elks, Board President of HJP Parks & Rec, and a member of the Arts Council of Monroe County.  Lori Ann's hobbies include cooking, baking, travel and reading.  Lori has children Antony (32), Miosotis (27), Isabela (23), and Aidan (13).  WELCOME TO THE ROTARY CLUB OF YORK, LORI ANN!
