President Commissioner and fellow Rotarian, Julie Wheeler provides an update on county government.
Julie, a seasoned Fortune 100 business leader, has more than 30 years of leadership experience in industrial and medical business sectors. Prior to her role as President Commissioner, she was a General Manager of a Medical Device Business at General Electric (GE). She has extensive experience in strategic planning, business development and operational leadership with experience leading both domestic and global businesses and has lived in Hong Kong and Japan.
Julie supports her local Red Lion Community as a member of the BPO Elks #1592. She’s a member of the Women’s Giving Circle and an active member of The Women’s Business Center Organization. She Co-Chairs the Stepping Up Initiative, is a York County Economic Alliance Board Member, and active in many other community organizations. In 2021, she was honored with a Community Impact Award from Bro 2 Go, and the York County Economic Alliance as an Elected Official of the Year. Julie was recognized as the 2017 Central Pennsylvania Business Journal, Woman of Influence for Community Achievement.
Julie was first elected in 2019 and as the Commissioner with the largest vote total was also elected as president.
