Ross Gibby, Chief Operating Officer of CRDC Global and President of CRDC USA, discusses how CRDC is creating appreciating value from the world’s plastic waste through an innovative solution that begins with the recovery of disposed plastic and ends with its use in concrete construction projects. Founded in 2018, the company is opening a facility in York and currently has operations in Costa Rica, USA, South Africa, Mexico, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. 

 

At the core of CRDC’s impact is a patented process that accepts all types of mixed or dirty plastic waste (Resins 1-7) and converts it into a range of concrete additives and eco-aggregates called RESIN8™. Concrete products containing RESIN8 meet or exceed internationally accepted ASTM standards and can be used in a wide variety of projects, including residential & commercial buildings as well as asphalt roadways. 

 

On the plastic recovery side, the ‘Bag That Builds” is CRDC’s innovative plastic waste collection program (currently being piloted in 4 countries) that receives and utilizes all types of plastic waste directly from households.
