Michael S. Euculano Youth Exchange Scholarship
Begun in 2007 after the tragic death of Rotarian Mike Euculano, this Fund provides financial support for Inbound and Outbound students to participate in the Youth Exchange Program. The Youth Exchange Program is an international exchange of students from around the world who spend a year in a country with their "adopted" parents. Students from those same countries spend a year in York with their "adopted" parents. The mission of the Youth Exchange program is to create international peace and understanding by establishing international communications through an academic and cultural exchange of high school students.
Edward P Mangold Scholarship
Sanford M Kranich Scholarship
The Edwin P. Mangold Scholarship Fund was created by the estate of Rotarian Ed Mangold, a member of this club for 10-1/2 years. Using these funds, in May 2007, a scholarship endowment fund was established in his name . A $1,000 scholarship for students attending a two or four year accredited educational institution will be awarded each year in his name.
The Sanford M. Kranich Scholarship Fund was created by the Estate of Rotarian Sandy Kranich, a member of this club for more than 41 years. Sandy was well-known in the community as a collector of Friends. Everyone was his “pal”. Using these funds, in May 2007, an endowment was established. A $500 scholarship for students attending a two or four year accredited educational institution is awarded annually in Sandy’s name.
Kahley Rising Musician Scholarship
Established in 2012 to honor Rotarian Art Kahley, this $500 scholarship is for students from William Penn or York Suburban High Schools who plan to major in Music Education or Music Performance. The first scholarship was awarded in June 2014 for the 2014-2015 academic year. This $500 scholarship is based on musicianship and academics.
Non-Traditional Students Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Rotary club members to assist students with training and education in various forms such as a technical institute, so that they may grow to be leaders in their own fields and serve our community in other ways. This fund supports less academically oriented, non-traditional, hard-working students, especially those attending non-traditional educational institutions including YTI, Culinary Institute, and Trade schools, to achieve their educational goals.
James B and Carrie Bush Scholarship
The James C. and Carrie B. Bush Memorial Fund of York Foundation was created in 1993 upon the death of Rotarian James Bush. A portion of the earnings is paid to the Rotary Club of York Charitable Endowment Fund for use either to its student loan fund or for a scholarship fund, which is administered by the Club.
John and Paige Smith Scholarship
This scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of John & Paige Smith through the York County Community Foundation. The first scholarship will be awarded spring 2015.
