Weekly Lunch Meeting: Virtual meeting zoom.com
The "Importance of Early Childhood Literacy" program will be presented by Paula Gilbert from York County Libraries.
The Rotary Club of York’s Literacy Committee is pleased to kick off our month-long celebration of literacy by welcoming Paula Gilbert from York County Libraries to discuss the importance of early childhood literacy. Paula will also share some thoughts and techniques that you can use at home, with the young ones in your lives. Paula has worked with countless organizations to bring high quality literacy opportunities to our youngest, most vulnerable early learners. Paula’s passion to help these young readers is contagious. Her time working for this cause in York County started back in 1982. As an added treat, Paula invites everyone to bring a child to your computer screen for a special reading just for them. All children are welcome to listen in as Paula will read to them, and us, a short story towards the end of her presentation. We look forward to seeing all of you at this fun, interactive presentation.
