Starting a nonprofit during a recession, arguably, is even more difficult.
But that's just what Ruth Koup did when she founded Dress for Success South Central PA.
Through her experience as a social worker, she discovered inefficiencies in local welfare departments and saught to not only save them money but help socio-economically disadvantaged women have successful job interviews.
Today, her nonprofit — part of the national Dress for Success organization — includes three locations.
