This committee introduces new members and their proposers at a luncheon meeting. Members schedule and coordinate periodic orientation sessions for new members where they are introduced to the wide variety of opportunities and activities within the Rotary Club of York.
What do we do?
We are responsible for managing the introduction of new members and their proposers/sponsors at weekly luncheon meetings. This involves reviewing a biographical form, officially introducing them at lunch, asking fellow Rotarians to welcome them to the Club and helping them gain a first understanding of the Club.
How do we make sure new members know about our club?
Several times a year, the committee is responsible for hosting an orientation to rotary for new members. This is done on a quarterly or as needed basis at the call of the chair based on the number of new members coming into the Club.
The orientation is designed to offer new Rotarians an overview of their obligations and opportunities for fellowship and service while a member of the club, here in York, or around the world.
